Selling at Auction
We have a monthly series of valuation days in our Milton Road Auction Rooms in Wokingham, where our team can give you free advice on selling items at auction. The next dates for the valuation days are posted on the front page of Antiques section of the website, and are also included in our sales calendar. You can also follow us on social media, where we will keep you up to date. No appointment is necessary on these days.
Alternatively, you can make an appointment to see a specialist at the saleroom at other times, or we can arrange to come to your home for free verbal advice.
Buying at Auction
It is important that buyers satisfy themselves with the condition of lots before bidding. If you cannot view the auction in person, you can request a condition report for the lot or lots that interest you. These can be requested through our online catalogues on our website, the-saleroom.com and easyliveauction.com or e-mail email@example.com. Further images of a lot can also be requested. Condition reports are only a matter of opinion and cannot be relied on when bidding. You should inspect the item yourself by viewing the lot. Items cannot be returned if there is a dispute concerning the condition if you have not examined it.
We operate a paddle bidding system. We request that you complete a bidding registration form before you bid in the room. You will then be provided with a ‘paddle number’, which should be shown to the auctioneer should your bid be successful.
Commission & Telephone Bids
Alternatively, you can leave a commission bid and we will bid on your behalf. If you request a telephone bid, we will contact you during the auction. All commission and telephone bids must be submitted by Tuesday 6pm prior to the auction.
Telephone bids must have a form of photo ID sent to us if you have not bid before.
Telephone bids will not be accepted under £50
Live Online Bidding
Live bidding is available online via our website, easyliveauction.com and the-saleroom.com. Bidding on our website is hosted by easyliveauction.com.
Please be aware that bidding through any of the above websites will incur extra charges in addtion to our buyer's premium. Please review the terms and conditions of easyliveauction.com and/or the-saleroom.com for further deatails of their services.
Payment can be made by the following methods:
Debit or Credit card
Bank transfer (Bank account details are provided on our invoices)
Cash (up to a maximum of £2,500 per transaction)
The net proceeds of sale will be paid by bank transfer normally 10 -12 working days after the sale subject to the buyer having paid in full for the Lot(s). Payment by cheque will be subject to a deduction of £6 (ie £5 + £1 vat) to cover additional administration costs, bank charges, postage and stationery.
WE REQUEST ALL ITEMS MUST BE PAID FOR AND COLLECTED BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS THE FRIDAY AFTER THE AUCTION
