4 Bed Bungalow For Sale

The Lodge, Forest Road, Binfield - £850,000

  • Of great character
  • Fields across the road
  • Wonderful garden - 0.3 acres

A quite exceptional Lodge in 0.3 of an acre.   Several extensions enhance the original.

Formerly part of Marchfield House, a grand 18th Century Listed building.

On the outskirts of Binfield Village.

Exceptionally well located for many towns, motorways and important railway stations.

DESCRIPTION/LOCATION: In every sense a unique and quite delightful property. The Lodge initially enjoys a shared entrance with the adjoining Marchfield House but very quickly the two driveways separate, ensuring each property has its own independent access after leaving Forest Road.  The Lodge has been carefully and sympathetically extended and is offered for sale in quite exceptional order.  The open style living of the kitchen/breakfast room with adjoining sitting room overlooking the gardens, are a striking feature.  There is also a lounge/dining room  with open fireplace, which might be used on more formal occasions or perhaps in the winter, sitting around the open fire would be a good excuse to occupy this room.  There is in any event, a log burning stove in the sitting room.  An inner hallway leads to the very smart bathroom/shower room with the four bedrooms, each with their own access, three of which have lovely views over the rear garden.

Outside there is a home office with adjoining store/small garden room, which again has open views across the gardens.  There is also a container. The gardens are an important feature and perhaps best described in the photographs below.  If the character and quality of the property and grounds is not enough to sell the Lodge, then it must be the general location.

Binfield Village is a little more than half a mile away, with some good local shops, doctors’ surgery, library and school for children 5 – 11 years.  Wokingham, Bracknell and access to the M4 (Junction 10) are all within 2 – 3 miles.  The M3 is also readily available via a series of mainly dual carriageways around Bracknell at Bagshot (Junction 3) to the south.  There is a scenic route past White Waltham airfield to Maidenhead to the north and the nearby villages of Bray and Holyport.  Other accessible towns include Reading, Ascot, Windsor and Slough.  Wokingham and Bracknell railway stations offer services on the Reading to London (Waterloo line), with a service from Wokingham to Guildford and Gatwick airport.  Just to the north (about 4 miles) is Twyford station, with fast services between the west of England - Reading - London (Paddington) and shortly the new Crossrail service will also stop at Twyford before terminating at Reading.
